JAMJO: 1 RECESSION: 0

Today JAMJO is 1:) We shall be celebrating this 1 year milestone when we get a break from the pixels…

When we started out a year ago we thought that it’d just be fun to build some websites and start making some mula to fund our madness (this was probably our main motivation to start JAMJO up:). Since the first JAMJO creation went live though, we’ve simply been creating one JAMJO gem after another… and it’s  most fun!….

Our second year starts here and we have a lot of some really exciting creations, new services and ideas to come…watch this here space for for some really great new sites and upcoming launches. We have worked with the greatest clients a company could wish for over the past 12 months and some amazing projects to boot….. social networks, arts blogs, Recording studios, and sites based in Ireland, Thailand, Australia, London and the USA… (I know i’ve left some place out!!) A New Year…

A new year and JAMJO are off to a flyng start! We introduce Wild Wood Toys. Our job: to brand, design and implement a full scale e-commerce solution for this Waterford based company.

The fine folks over there supply beautiful, handmade traditional wooden toys made from beechwood, maple, birch or pine. They are all harvested from managed forests to ensure dear old mother nature has a smile on her face! The site itself is built on a scalable Magento platform with cross browser compatibility and works neatly on any mobile device you may have at hand. A sound job from JAMJO we must say!

Happy CRIMBO From JAMJO!

…somewhere between a sea of bail outs and fast cuts and banana namas and snow storms we managed to get some work done….and mighty proud of it we are too..grab a taste here….we gots to cook up some big fish in the new year which we’ll be featuring on this site soon and adding some new clients that we’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past few months…so tune back in to the same inter web channel next year to see exactly what kind of JAM we’ve been putting tween our doughnuts….as for this year we bid thee the fondest of farewells and hope to talk again soon…happy christmas, peace, goodwill, god speed, over and out, take her handy and and stay way from the brandy!

“Websites are never finished. they’re abandoned”

it came to me whilst in New Jersey this year recording some music at Big Blue Meanie studio…i noticed that the very quest to root out the finest of details and trim and chop and improve could often prove fruitless…and you find you have to tear yourself away before you end up with an over produced amalgamation of your own insecurities…the moral of this ditty? know when to finish….know when the bun is cooked!…..too much aimless tinkering and indulgent meddling will remove whats originally good with your designs…there is such a thing as over thinking it after all

and speaking of finishing websites…your tried and trusty web lords have been busy these last few weeks putting the finishing touches on various work that has come in…some recent and some that have been ongoing…..check out our latest offerings Read More…

Just launched – Youghal Bay Boat Club

Not long now since we launched the new Youghal Bay Boat Club website and my don’t it look pretty! Have a wee peek here…

Youghal Bay Boat Club is just recently formed and looks after the boating enthusiasts in the South-East of Ireland (Dungarvan, Ardmore, Youghal, Ballycotton). JAMJO were asked to lend their creative hands to the design of the site and online brand. A cool and contemporary look coupled with some tasty little features like integrated blogs, dynamic galleries, forums and private membership sections. Go Youghal Bay!

Some new touches to the site

…worked hard on a new CLIENTS SECTION...we think our site needed it…a handy place to list pretty much all the businesses we have had the pleasure to work with to date (hopefully will fill up nicely over time…fingers tightly crossed!)…have some exciting new projects in the pipeline too…so check the OUR WORK secton (which we also tightened up a wee bit )….we’ll be looking at the services section next m’thinks…with a view to overhauling the current layout…texty, texty makes me vexedy…some icons perhaps…hmmm….let us wait and see….

Over 50,000 visits!

Today we are pleased to announce a milestone….just over 50,000 visits to JAMJO’s websites last month!….roughly 70 clients in all…our bouce rate (essentially the percentage of people that nip off to another site having viewed only 1 page) is a respectable 31%…

Avinash Kaushik, a Google analytics specialist says:

“It is really hard to get a bounce rate under 20%, anything over 35% is cause for concern, 50% (above) is worrying”

most proud are we of these stats and hope to hit that elusive 100,000 visits by years end…a big feat! but with the likes of the very popular Small Business Can we think we can get there!

So what does one think about the new site?

So we finally got around to our brand and spanking new JAMJO website…complete overhaul on the brand was called for…clean, simple and beautiful was the brief we set ourselves…let the work do the talking we said…aesthetics and technics we thought…brains and beauty we fathomed…did we succeed?…hmmm…i think we got close (what do you think? leave a comment below)

in case you are wondering JAMJO was started by myself JOn and my good auld chum JAMes a few years back having been nearly driven to wits end in the magical cuckoo land of the music industry…not that we have packed away our guitars and drums…on the contrary…but that’s after hours when the laptops have been put to rest for the day….for now this is the place for updates on new projects, designs and all of that kind…everything JAMJO basically…and we have been a mite busy of late…so plenty in the pipeline…tinkering away on our keyboards like little clicking locusts we’ll be…talk soon folks
