Royal Cork Yacht Club have been a long standing client of Jamjo Design and in preparation for the 2007 season they were looking for a new look and feel for their website and a more powerful content management system behind the scenes. With the large number of events, and club members involved in the club, Royal Cork Yacht Club wanted a website that connected with the community, giving them access to results, statistics and club information at the click of a mouse.

They decided on a PHP based website with a flexible Content Management System in order to upload current club news, multimedia files, events and most importantly expose there unique sailing history which began way back in 1720 making Royal Cork Yacht Club the oldest yacht club in the world.

How Did We Help?

Our first job was to develop a website that would let the club members at Royal Cork Yacht Club publish information about classes, tournaments, fixtures and results with as little effort possible. To do this we built a sophisticated Content Management System.

This Content Management System also allows the team at RCYC to manage online orders and other purchases using a very sophisticated order management system, with little effort orders can be viewed, printed, searched and processed. Our next job was to update the dated look and feel of the existing website. Staying within the clubs brand guidelines we set out to create a rich and engaging interface that presents the large amount of information available on the website in an accessible way. To compliment this we also used integrated Google Gallaries to give the viewer a feel for the atmosphere and action that can be experienced at the Royal Cork Yacht Club.

Working with the design for the Royal Cork Yacht Club we were able to build their site incorporating an easy to use Content Management System, whilst still maintain the flexibility that is often lost with CMS systems.

The Great Results!

The new site has now been live for one season and has been a resounding success, generating activity from all club members and also providing information on all aspects of this great yacht club.
